Biagia (Dezio) DiBenedetto

AGE: 82 • Monroe Twp.

Biagia (Dezio) DiBenedetto, 82 of Monroe Twp. died Wednesday November 7 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Rome, Italy, Mrs. DiBenedetto came to the U.S. in 1949 and settled in Monroe Twp. She was employed as a seamstress, doing what she loved. She retired in 1991, after 40 years working in shops in Englishtown, South River and Freehold. Mrs. DiBenedetto was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy RC Church, Englishtown.

She was predeceased by her husband Salvatore in 1997 and her three sisters Garziella Tivibocchi, Maria Dezio and Natalina Dezio.

Surviving is her daughter Maddalin DiBenedetto of Manalapan, her son Pasquale "Pete" DiBenedetto of Englishtown, her sister Antonella Negro and brother Giacomo Dezio, both of Rome Italy and her brother-in-law Vito DiBenedetto of Monroe Twp.

Funeral services will begin at 8:45 a.m. Monday November 12 at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church, Englishtown.

Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday 7:45-8:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy RC Church 58 Main St., Englishtown.
