Carol (Canuso) Balitsky, of South River, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Princeton Medical Center. She was 51. Born in New Brunswick, she grew up in South River and lived in Helmetta and Spotswood before moving back to South River 5 years ago. Carol was a project coordinator for Dow Jones in Princeton. Previously she had worked for L'Oreal in Dayton. She was a volunteer for United Way and the Obama Presidential Campaign. She belonged to various organizations and support groups that promoted Brain Tumor Awareness. She was communicant of Corpus Christi RC Church, South River.
She's predeceased by her father, Joseph Canuso (d. 1999). Surviving is her mother, Veronica Canuso of South River; her daughter, Kara DeRose of Plainsboro; her son, Travis Balitsky of South River; her sisters, Barbara Korzen of Forked River and Janice Hubbard of South River; her brothers, Joseph Canuso of Spotswood and Mark and Anthony Canuso both of South River; and 3 grandchildren, Teresa DeRose and Brianna and Trenton Balitsky.
A Mass will be held Thursday, 10:00 am, at Corpus Christi RC Church, South River. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
