Dorothy Jean Gordon

AGE: 70 • Plainfield

Dorothy Jean Gordon, 70, died Sun. Jan. 8, 2012 at home. Born in Sanford, FL, she lived in Plainfield 54 years. She was employed as a cafeteria employee at Hubbard School in Plainfield for 40 years.

Surviving are her husband Bruce H. Gordon, Sr.; a son Bruce H. Gordon, Jr. (Kim); four daughters Christine, Sandra (fiancé Michael), Deborah Gordon and Mia Gordon-Tyrell; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her step father Herman Smith; a god brother Roscoe Banks; a sister in law Patricia Gordon; a brother in law Alfred Gordon and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Sat. 10am in Rose of Sharon Community Church, 825 West Seventh St., Plainfield preceded by viewing at 9am. Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home, Plainfield. www.brownsfuneralhome.net.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I first met Ms. Dorothy as a student many years ago and for the past several years as a teacher have had the pleasure of being greated daily by her warm smile. I will truly miss her. May God comfort and strengthen the family during this difficult time.
