Mrs. Dorothy V. Pitter passed away on Sept. 8, 2013 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. She was born in Manchester, Jamaica, WI., on August 27, 1942. She was a nurse for over 45 yrs., a resident of South Plainfield, NJ for 19 yrs. & also Plainfield, NJ.

Dorothy was an active member of the Lake Nelson Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Piscataway, NJ., where she served on the Church Board as Superintendent of the Sunday School Department. She was employed at the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield, NJ & the Beth Israel Hospitals in Newark & Manhattan, NY, before retiring in 2006. She was also a nurse for the South Plainfield, School district. Mrs. Pitter was an alumna of Jersey City State College where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, the late Hansel Gaynor and Blanch White. She is survived by her husband of 48 yrs, Harry A. Pitter, daughter Harene Pitter (fiancé, Curt Fladger), grandchildren: Anthony Pitter and Anya Wilson; brothers: Mauve Cherrington, Pete Williams, Basil & Errol Gaynor, and Balfour McKenzie; sisters: Mauve Cherrington, Joan Clark, Doreen Slater, Karen Anne, Janet Gaynor, & Jackie Williams, and many other loving neices, nephews, relatives and friends both in the United States and Abroad.

Viewing will take place Sun. Sept 15, 2013 at Judkins Colonial Home, Inc., 428 W4th Str, Plainfield, NJ 07060 from 3 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. The Service will be on Mon. Sept 16, 2013 at Lake Nelson Seventh-Day Adventist, 561 S. Randolphville Rd., Piscataway, NJ @ 10 AM. Arrangements are by Judkins www.judkinsco
