Douglas E. Borchers

AGE: 60 • South Plainfield

Douglas E. Borchers, 60, died Christmas Day at his home. Born in Summit, he resided there only a few years before moving to South Plainfield. Douglas co-owned the Park Hardware Store in Plainfield with his brothers for over 25 years. He enjoyed playing basketball, especially during his high school and college years.

His mother, Marguerite Faistl Borchers predeceased him. Surviving are his father, Donald W. Borchers of South Plainfield; two brothers, William Borchers of New Hampshire and Richard Borchers of Plainfield, a nephew and a niece.

Cremation was held privately under the direction of the Higgins Home for Funerals, Plainfield. To send condolences, please visit www.higginsfuneralhome.com

Our family knew Doug from the Park Hardware Store. He and his brother has probably assisted and advised every homeowner in Plainfield. He was a good man and will surely be missed.
