Edward Owen Muller, 50, of Neptune, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. Edward (Eddie) was born and raised in Neptune, graduated from Holy Innocents Grammar School in Neptune and St. Rose High School in Belmar, and he received an Associate Degree from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. Eddie was a dedicated and trusted employee of Norkus Brothers' Foodtown for more than 33 years and received several awards for his valuable contributions to the company. He has been employed by Stop & Shop for the past year. With a lifelong passion for baseball, Eddie was a pitcher on the St. Rose High School baseball team and a diehard Mets fan. Eddie was a model of unconditional love and loyalty, compassion, generosity, and complete selflessness for all who knew him. He loved his family deeply, and was a proud uncle of his many nieces and nephews, who knew Uncle Eddie would always be there for them.
A devoted son, brother, and uncle for whom family always came first, Eddie was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Marie Muller; and his sister, Kathryn. He is survived by one brother and five sisters, Mary Grogan and her husband Tom, Joan Muller, Bernadette Broccolo and her husband Tim, Susan Muller, Henry J. Muller Jr. and his wife Marge, and Colleen Padnos and her husband Steve; seven nieces and nephews, Lynn Blackburn, Denise Pastrick and her husband Dave, Eileen Grogan, Beth Muller, Brian Broccolo, Erin Muller and Allison Muller; a great-niece, Anna Blackburn; and great-nephews, Liam Blackburn and Joseph Pastrick.
A celebration of Eddie's life will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at Holy Innocents Roman Catholic Church, 3455 West Bangs Ave., Neptune, with a burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Route 66, Neptune.
