To the Picou Family: it is with great saddeness and joy that I communicate with you. I am the present JR Warden of Hiram Lodge No.5; Lawnside New Jersey, past Secertary of the same; and unoffical historian of this august body. I have researched the records and the Lodge's Minutes Books for the history and background of our Lodge. Your family members have spent many of nights without Mr and Mrs Picou because they were tied up in doing or supporting Masonic Business that benifited the Community; both Masonic and non masonic.. It is with a profound and sadden heart that we are informed of the passing of Ethel Picou. Hiram Lodge No. 5 would not be where it is; doing what it does, had it not been for the people that it serves; if it had not been for Bro. Picou passing thur our doors, and setting the bench mark, and having a faithful, decicated, devoted, and supported wife in his corner. My selfish wish for this departed soul; Ethel Picou: is taht I pray, hope and trust, that the time lost and scarificed made in this earthly existance, by them to be spent apart in the advancement of others be redeemend, granted, and extended to them, to be spendt together in that "Hevenly Existance; that they spent along; in helping, aiding, and supporting not only the Masonic Brother/Sisterhood. but Families and Communities at large.
