George Guttridge, son of "The Great Generation," went home to be with Helen, his mother, George, his father, a brother Tom, and two sisters, Alice and Gladys, on Friday November 9, 2012. He was known by all his nieces and nephews as Navy George, born at the beginning of the Great Depression, George was too young for World War II, but he didn't hesitate to serve the country he loved in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. George worked for Durex but later in his career he owned and ran Sunshine Taxi in the town of Dunellen where he resided. Nephew, Donald Giese and wife Mary Lou Giese of NJ had taken care of Uncle George during his last years. They took him into their home because of Hurricane Sandy, which we all believe was God's way of putting him where family could love and be with him when he went home to be with Our Lord. He will be loved and missed forever.
Memorial will be held at Zarephath Christian Church, Life Center on Friday, November 16th at 11:00AM. The address for the memorial is: 2 Chapel Drive, Zarephath, NJ 08890.
