Henry J. Simanoski, passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on January 16, 2013, he was 89 years young. Born in Jersey City and raised in Glen Cove, Long Island, he later moved to Clark where he raised his family before finally settling in Ocean Gate in 1985. Henry served in WWII in the Army Air Corps., he had flew on a B17 as a gunner in the "Mighty 8th". He received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart during his years of service. After being shot down and put into the hospital, he then met the love of his life, Catherine to whom he was married to for 64 years. Catherine predeceased him in 2008. Also, he was an Exalted Ruler of the Clark Elks Lodge. Surviving are four daughters, Dorie Anne Johnson and her husband Robert, Karen Schiller and her husband Jim, Patrice Simanoski, and Tina Warns and her husband Jack; Nine grandchildren, Michael, Sven, Jay, Georgette, Eric, Heather, Danielle, Melissa and Megan; Seven great grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Kate, Ryan, Sydney, Brianne and Dagny. He will be greatly missed by them all. Viewing will be Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 2-5 pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Boulevard, Bayville, NJ 08721. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Saint Barnabas Church in Bayville, please meet at church. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Henry's name can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or online at www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org.
