Henry Stashek

AGE: 87 • Millstone

Henry "Scoop" Stashek, 87 died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. He was born in Millstone, NJ the son of the late Stephen and Tilley Stashek. He was a lifelong resident of Millstone, NJ. Mr. Stashek served his Country Honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He served as a Motor Machinist's Mate, Second Class from 1942 to 1947. Mr. Stashek worked as a Millwright at the Johns-Manville Corporation in Manville, NJ for 39 years before retiring. He was a member of the Johns-Manville Quarter Century Club. Mr. Stashek was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh V.F.W. Post #2290 in Manville, NJ. He was known by his family and friends as Scoop. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Millstone, NJ. Scoop was loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

He is predeceased by three brothers Stephen Stashek, Alfred Stashek and Frank Stashek and by five sisters Theresa Gretski, Caroline Hazchek, Dorothy Vayda, Anne Troisi and Irene DeStefano. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Edna L. Stashek and his daughter Karen Jurgensen and her husband Alan of Hillsborough, NJ. He is also survived by four grandchildren Jason Klett and his wife Alison, Jonathan Stashek and his wife Karamay, Kyle Jurgensen and Rebecca Jurgensen and by three great-grandchildren Arielle, Madysen and Ava Klett.

The viewing will be on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. (908)575-8512. The Funeral will be on Thursday, February 14, 2013 8:45 AM from the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Millstone, NJ.
