I will always remember Aunt Joan, and the summer barbecues in Plainfield, (and the Christmas parties). I remember the feeling of extended family when my Aunt Joan and Uncle Conrad would visit both our house and Aunt Joan's grandparents, (and Dottie), across the street, (on Sprague Ave. in Tottenville, Staten Island). I also remember how both Aunt Joan and Uncle Conrad were both there for my Grandma Sauer up until the time of her death in 1966. There were quite a few other social occasions at Aunt Ruth and Uncle Al's place; in both Stapleton, Staten Island; and New Shrewsbury, (later Tinton Falls), New Jersey; that remain lodged in my memory. Aunt Joan and Uncle Conrad also went to Europe with my parents, (Robert and Ann Moffit). There is so much history here, (and so much to feel positive about). That is what I will take with me for the rest of my life. Aunt Joan will never be forgotten.

No words of condolence can adequately comfort the loss of a mother who is the most important person in a child's life, and though I only knew her a short time, I came to respect and enjoy Joan's words, and her brave fight with cancer and her truly feisty personality. Sorely missed. Sharing your grief at this sad time.

To my second mom, the fight is over. Many battles were won and now you can rest. You were many things to many people and your legacy will live on in those you touched. Say hi to mom.
