Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Jessica:

I am very sorry for your loss. John and I were good friends in high school. He was one of the brightest and funniest guys I knew. May he rest in peace.

Hello. A few friends of John from school and the neighborhood have asked for a service here at Prep. We will have a prayer service on September 10 at 12 noon at Prep. The group will then convene afterwards at Doriens near the mass. All are invited. Thanks, Tony Azzarto S..J.

Lee family, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. John and I had most of our classes together at Prep but I may not have seen him much after graduation. That really is a great picture of John, just how I remember him – a wise-cracking super-genius with many interests - a renaissance man, as Tom said. My condolences. May John rest in peace.

John was a close friend at St. Al's Grammar School and St. Peter's Prep. John was a unique and complete person -true friend, scholar, unequaled wit, off-the-charts bright, rennaisance man, and bon vivant. Some may not know that he founded the (completely fictional) Cave Canem Society at Prep. (It means "Beware of Dog" in Latin.) We shared Giant games, Keith Jarrett at Carnegie Hall, and drives to Prep in his vintage white Mustang. I was lucky enough to live across the street from him on Bentley Ave. My sincere condolences, Mr. and Mrs. Lee and Jessica.

Mr. & Mrs. Lee,

I was truly saddened to hear of John’s passing on the 3rd. John was a wonderful friend through out the years we grew up on Jewett Ave and then on to Prep and then afterwards. I often think about the childhood experiences I shared with John and Billy (McDonough) running through the back yards and playing football from sewer plate to sewer plate are but a few that I cherish. My family will keep you and John in our prayers. Daniel Mikolay
