AGE: 76 • Spring Lake Heights
John J. Forker, 76, passed away after a brave, and thankfully brief, fight against cancer. Born on the Boulevard and 13th Street to John and Grace Forker of Donegal Ireland, Bayonne was his hometown. John served in Korea in the Army Signal Corps from 1955-1956. With the benefit of the GI Bill, John attended Mt. St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, MD. John went on to teach at St. Rose High School, followed by 25 years at Lake Riviera Middle School in Brick. John was the life of the party, especially in the 20 years that he managed the Sea Girt Inn. John was a lifetime Yankees fan, enjoyed golf, and spending time with friends. Most of all, he was a beloved brother and the best of Dads.
Predeceased by his sister, Sr. Grace Eileen, SSJ, he will be missed by his brothers, James Forker of Boca Raton, FL and Ed and Liz Forker, of Neptune, along with his daughter, Kaela Forker Clary and her husband Bill Clary and grandchildren, Nate and Hayden Clary.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at St. Catharine Catholic Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
