John S. Hardy

AGE: 97 • Pittstown

John S. Hardy, 97 of Pittstown, died Tuesday October 30, 2012 at Country Arch Nursing Home. Born in Freehold he lived most of his life in South Amboy before recently moving to Pittstown. He Served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He and his family operated a farm in Millhurst for 75 years.

Son of the late Edward and Harriett Beckman Hardy he was also predeceased by his wife, Theresa Yanas Hardy in 2003; a step-son, John Flanigan; a step-daughter, Katherine McKeon and her husband Robert. He is survived by his Brother, Alfred Hardy of Toms River; a sister, Elizabeth Jozey of Jackson; his step-son, Frank Flanigan and his wife Barbara of Hampton; a step-daughter, Julia Flanigan of Florida; eight grandchildren, Robin Daminger, Amy Kinney, Robert, Timothy, John, and Peter Mckeon, Daniel Flanigan, and Young Matthew Flanigan; seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Amy, and Liam Kinney, Robert and Katie McKeon, Calvin Flanigan, and Molly Riley; and two great great grandchildren Chase and Giada.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 8, 2012 at 9am at The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy followed by intermet at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1pm - 5pm.
