Joseph Edger Pope

AGE: 82 • Basking Ridge

Joseph Edger Pope, 82, died on April 30, 2014. He was born in Plainfield, NJ on August 3, 1931 to his dear parents Anastasia Siergiej and Joseph Francis Pope. Joseph was a Plumber for the Former Joe Pope Plumbing and Heating Company in Basking Ridge; and served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He loved fishing, boating, bocce ball, painting, woodworking, and dancing. Joseph was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Joseph is survived by his loving children, Joseph E. Pope Jr. of Green Brook and Michelle (Brian) Sibiga of Raritan; one dear brother, William (Dee) Pope of Raritan; three loving sisters, Marion (Patrick) Parisi of North Plainfield, Mary Jane "Ginger" Wade of Waretown, Stasia (John) Konick of Waretown; one wonderful grandson, John Sibiga; many nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Michele Pope of Green Brook. He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Richard Pope.

Viewing will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908-725-1887). Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 starting with a viewing from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by a 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Plainfield, NJ.
