Joseph "Bob" Wallner

AGE: 85 • East Brunswick

Joseph "Bob" Wallner, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his home in East Brunswick. He was 85. Born in New Brunswick, he had lived in East Brunswick for the past 52 years. Mr. Wallner was a World War II veteran having served in the 2nd Marine Division in the Pacific. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 45 years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Brunswick, was president of the Tri-County Area Local of the American Postal Workers Union, and was a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Palestine Lodge #111 F&AM, Princeton. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sonja Wallner.

Friends and relatives may call Sunday, May 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. only at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 16 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toys for Tots, 296 Amboy Ave., Metuchen, NJ 08840 or www.toysfortots.org or the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ, 08691.
