Lauren McBain, 31, a lifelong resident of Loch Arbour, died suddenly Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Lauren attended Ocean Township Schools. She received her bachelor degrees in Anthropology & History from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Lauren was a certified veterinary technician.
Lauren loved life, her fiancé, Brendan, her family and her pets. She devoted her professional life to the care and comfort of animals through her 12 years at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital and also through her volunteer work with the SPCA & Wag On Inn Rescue fostering rescued dogs.
Lauren is survived by her fiancé, Brendan Donohue; her loving parents, Bill & Betty McBain; two sisters, Molly and Kathleen McBain; two brothers, Bill & Patrick McBain; her grandmother, Mil (Nonny) McBain; 18 aunts and uncles, and 25 cousins. She is also survived by her 2 cats, Molly & Clancy, and 3 dogs, Charlie, Darby & Grandpa, and many friends, too numerous to name.
Family & friends are invited to a memorial funeral mass to celebrate Lauren's life at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Mary's Church, Page Avenue, Deal. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lauren's name to The Raptor Trust, 1390 White Bridge Road, Millington, NJ 07946 (www.theraptortrust.org) or the Valerie Fund, c/o Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740 (www.the valeriefund.org). Arrangements are being handled by Buckley Funeral Home, Asbury Park.
