Lucille Gallina died early Saturday morning, Jan. 23, 2010, at Mercerville Care Center in Mercerville. She was 93 years old. Mrs. Gallina was born in Bangor, PA and lived in New Brunswick for over 50 years. She moved to Robbinsville 5 years ago. She retired from The Bond Clothing Company as a seamstress after 20 years of employment and continued to work part time at the North Brunswick Caldor. She was a communicant of St. Mary Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick and frequently volunteered at St. Mary Mount Virgin Elementary School.
Mrs. Gallina was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph, in 1984. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Stella Gallina, in 2000; her sister, Grace Fisher; and her brothers, Tony, Leo and Dominick Romano. She is survived by her son, Rudolph Gallina and his wife Sandy of Robbinsville; her sister, Nellie Finelli of Rosetta, PA; her grandchildren, David Gallina and his wife Colleen of Chesterfield and Jill Cook and her husband Jeff of Hamilton; her four great grandchildren, Kylee and Mia Gallina and Logan and Maximus Cook. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Connie Gallina of Monroe and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in New Brunswick. Visitation will take place on Wednesday morning from 9-10 AM at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, in Somerset. Contributions in Mrs. Gallina's name may be made to the , National Center, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
