Madeline M Cevetto, 97, of Belmar passed away on Monday, May 14 at Manor By The Sea Nursing and Rehab facility in Ocean Grove. Madeline was born in Cliffside Park, NJ and lived in the Ironbound section of Newark for more than 70 years before moving to Belmar 10 years ago. Madeline was a parishioner of the Church of Saint Rose in Belmar. She was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in Newark and a former member of the Ironbound Senior Citizens Club. She worked for Dri-Print Foils in Rahway.
Madeline was predeceased by her husband Francisco "Frank" Cevetto in 1986. She is survived by her son Ralph J. Cevetto and his wife Diane of Toms River and Niles Ohio, and her daughter Josephine Pellegrino of Belmar, her five grandchildren Ralph Cevetto and his wife Sarah of Warren, Ohio, Cynthia McMahon and her husband Timothy of Manasquan, Nancy Poz and her husband Thomas of Garden City, NY, Carolyn Henry and her husband Scott of North Brunswick and Anthony Pellegrino and his wife Kimberly of Maplewood, as well as 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Clemente and Maria (Basile) Restaino and 10 brothers and sisters. Her surviving siblings are Natalie Elmos of Baltimore, MD, Clemente Restine of Ship Bottom, Mary Salerno of Roselle Park and Carmen Restine and his wife Mary of Livingston. She was the aunt and great-aunt to many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D Street Belmar NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 18 at 10:00am at the Church of Saint Rose in Belmar. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington NJ.
