Mae Frances Hansen Weck

AGE: 80 • Loudon, TN

Mae Frances Hansen Weck, age 80, of Loudon, TN, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, after a lengthy illness. "Maesie," as she was known to her family and friends, was born at home in South River, NJ, on November 7, 1932, to the late Frank R. and Edna Mae Van Zandt Hansen.

She is survived by her brother, Donald, sister-in-law, Susie of Loudon, TN; a sister, Elaine Gardner of Milton, FL, as well as several nieces.

Maesie had a life-long love of music. She was an accomplished organist, pianist, and soprano and served as a church organist for many years, as well as a soloist for many weddings. Graduating from South River High School in 1950, she was employed as a buyer of ladies ready-to-wear for P.J. Young in New Brunswick. She then joined NJ Bell Telephone Company from which she retired as Business Office Manager. Maesie married John Edward Weck in 1955, a marriage that was interrupted by Johns' death in 2010. With John, she traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, the Near East and the Far East, as well as the Caribbean. Maesie was also an active member of The Order of the Eastern Star, the Telephone Pioneers, and the South River Historical Society. She continued to serve as Secretary for the Class of 1950 until their last reunion in 2000. After Johns' death, she moved to Loudon, TN, residing at The Neighborhood.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, at 10:00 AM on July 19, 2013, for a service. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM in the BG William C.
