Marjorie Jane Maddock

AGE: 91 • Whiting

Marjorie J. Maddock, (nee Rue), of Whiting NJ, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at Seacrest Village Nursing Home in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Born in Union Township, PA, Marjorie lived in the Pittsburgh area until moving to Vineland, NJ with her family in 1969. Marjorie was integral to helping her husband, Ernest, earn his doctorate and assisted in all his research and case work. She also worked as a customer service representative for Sears Roebuck and Co. in Vineland, and enjoyed home decorating and gardening. She was very artistic and created the weekly floral arrangements and holiday decorations at her church for many years. Marjorie was also interested in travel and entertainment, and enjoyed both with her beloved daughter, Sandia, in her retirement.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Maddock in 1984, and her brother, Hodson Rue, of Cleveland, Ohio, along with her parents, Margaret and Elmer Rue of Crescent Heights, PA. She is survived by her children, Ernest E. Maddock of San Francisco, Calif., Margaret Rand and her husband, Saul, of Forked River, NJ, and Sandia Killius of Tuckerton, NJ, and a niece, Marie Rue, of Aurora, CO. Surviving are her grandchildren, Jordyn and Justin Rand of Forked River, Darcy Angelo and her husband, Mark, of Toms River, and David Rand and his wife, Rebecca, of Charlotte, NC. She also has seven great-grandchildren, Evan Alonso of Jersey City, NJ, Joshua Alonso of Weehawkin, NJ, Lauren and Samuel Angelo of Toms River, Hannah Rand, Ethan Rand and Abigail Schomberg of Charlotte, NC.

Funeral services are private, and internment will be at Mon Valley Memorial Park in Monagahela, PA. Donations in her memory can be made to the Resident's Council at Seacrest Village Nursing Facility at 1001 Center Street, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087, or to the Greater New Jersey Chapter of the , PO Box 39, Denville, NJ 07834.
