Mary Picciotti Scallo 80 of Oakhurst died on Saturday December 1, 2012 at St. Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Long Branch surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Lena Picciotti. Mary's greatest achievement in life was to watch her family grow. She was an active member at the Long Branch Seniors. Mary enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends and spending time with her loving dog Roxy.
She was predeceased by her first husband William Lykes in 2001, her second husband Angelo Scallo in 1981, her 3 brothers, Carmine, Phillip and Frankie Picciotti and 2 sisters, Madeline Romano and Margaret Lambrose.
Surviving are her children, Christine Lykes-Haynes and John Ronallo of Toms River; JoAnn Lykes-DeMartino-Wiener and Howard Wiener of Shrewsbury; Jodi and Alan Greenspan of Oakhurst; Patrick Scallo and Deborah Salomon of Long Branch; her grandchildren, Louis and Angela Piscitelli; Stacey and Raymond Sexton; Marc and Tenaya Piscitelli; Lindsay and Emily Greenspan and Ashley Faranda; her great grandchildren, Kevin Jones, Gianna Piscitelli, Mya Sexton, Dominick Piscitelli and Raymond Sexton, V; her sister, Sarah Parenti; nieces and nephews, Susan and Gary Hetrick and Thomas and Diane Parenti; and her extended family, Louis and Lucie Piscitelli, Pete Rogallo, Cheryl Ambrose, Dee Osborn and Scott LaMarca.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4 from 2-4, and 7 pm until the time of the funeral service at 8:30pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave (corner of Third Ave) Long Branch. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to the Mary C. Scallo Hospice Family Room, PO Box 567, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
