Meyer Gold, of Long Branch, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Meyer, a Holocaust survivor, was born in Strelisk, Poland, and immigrated to New Jersey after the War. Meyer had lived in Hillside for many years before settling in the West End area of Long Branch in 2002.
Meyer was predeceased by his parents, Avraham and Chana Gold; and his loving wife of 61 years, Pepa (2012). He is survived by his son, Al and his wife, Hilary of Ocean Twp.; his daughter, Aline and her husband, Harry Shlinger of Manalapan; his grandchildren, Dayna, Bryan, and Justin and his wife, Shayna; and his great-grandsons, Zev and Aharon.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, followed by interment at Mount Sinai Cemetery, both in Lakewood. Memorial donations in Meyer's memory can be made to the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education, Brookdale Community College, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft, NJ 07738 or online at www.chhange.org. Checks can be made payable to Chhange. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood.
