Orrel Mary "Mary" Kane

AGE: 89 • Plainfield

Orrel Mary Kane, "Mary", 89, of Plainfield, died February 23rd, 2013 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. She was born in Plainfield & had lived in Dunellen before her move back to Plainfield 63 years ago. Mary's husband Edward died in 1981. She worked as a clerk in the drafting department of Lockheed in Watchung for 10 years before her retirement in 1979. She was also a Navy Veteran of WWII serving as a Seaman First Class. Mary was a long time parishioner of St. John's Church in Dunellen & was formerly active in the Ancient Order of Hibernians Ladies Auxiliary in Dunellen. She also formerly belonged to St. Mary's Rosary Society.

Mary is predeceased by her sister Getrude Fursee and 3 brothers; William, Robert, and Richard. Surviving are 2 daughters Gwendolyn (Jonathan) Kane of Dunellen, Margaret Ann Kane of McAlister, OK, 2 sisters, Ann Greaney of Robbinsville, NJ, and Catherine McLaughlin of Bound Brook NJ, brother, Joseph of Elysburg, PA, granddaughter, Kellly (Christopher) Whaley, grandson, Brian (Kimberley) Cooper, great-grandchildren, Cooper and Ryan Whaley and Mackenzie and Aidan Cooper, and many loving nephews, nieces and friends. She will be sorely missed by all.

Visiting will be Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 from 3-5 & 7-9PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, NJ. There will be a mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 27th at 9:00AM to 10:00AM at St Johns Church, Dunellen. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
