Paul Monte

AGE: 82 • Brick

Paul Monte, age 82, of Brick, formerly of Westfield, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at home. Born and raised in Orange, he moved to Brick from Westfield in 1996. Paul attended Seton Hall University in South Orange on a track scholarship and graduated with a BA Degree. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War at the rank of Lieutenant. Before retirement, Paul was a sales executive with RCA, Clark, NJ where he traveled the world. Paul was a parishioner at St. Dominic's Church in Brick and a cantor at Sacred Heart Church in Bay Head. He was a trustee with the Greenbriar Association and performed with the Westfield Community Players, Grant School Players, Choral Arts Society and Westfield Men's Chorus. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed a good game of golf.

Paul was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, William and Charles. He is survived by his dearly loved wife, Joan; sons, Paul F. Monte and his wife Emilia of Gaithersburg, MD, Christopher J. Monte and his wife Kathleen of Jacksonville, OR, David A. Monte and his wife Kathleen of Cranford, Peter J. Monte and his wife Anna of Livingston and John P. Monte and his wife Callie of Scottsdale, AZ; daughters, Katherine M. Monte of Wall and Joan B. Monte of Springfield; a brother, John C. Monte and his wife Kathryn of Manchester and grandchildren, Brandon, Nina, Matthew, Peter, Clare and John Luca.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 2PM - 4PM and 7PM - 9PM at the Colonial Funeral Home, Brick and a memorial mass will be offered on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 10AM at St. Dominic's Church, Brick. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Joan Dancy & PALS (People with ALS) Foundation, www.joandancyandpals.org
