Peter J. Bacus

AGE: 79 • Howell

Peter J. Bacus, age 79, of Howell, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Orange, NJ prior to moving to Howell in 1980. He opened his own business at the age of 20 in Guttenburg, NJ, then for the past 50 years owned several other businesses in Neptune City, Red Bank and Shrewsbury Township, most recently being the former owner of Liquor Deli in Shrewsbury Township. He bought and sold many liquor stores and taverns, as well as working many different jobs over his career. Peter served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Surviving is his wife Susan (Courter) Bacus; two sons Peter Bacus Jr. of Linden, Ronald Dean Bacus and his wife Christine of Pennsylvania; one daughter Trudy Bacus Wasalewski and her husband Kevin of Pemberton; two step sons Richard East of Brick, and was predeceased by David East; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, was in charge of arrangements.
