Rae G. (Megaro) Lepre, age 82, of Point Pleasant, NJ entered eternal peace on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Wall. She was born and raised during the Depression in Newark and lived in Bloomfield before moving to Point Pleasant in 1991. Rae's childhood was spent surrounded by a large Italian family of eight children growing up modest in means, but abundant in love and tradition. She was employed for many years with Horn Russell Insurance Company in Newark as a bookkeeper. She was a parishioner of St. Martha's R.C. Church in Point Pleasant.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Gerald Lepre in 2001. She is survived by her loving children, Denise Lepre Esposito of Toms River and Richard Lepre of Georgia; a brother, Robert Megaro of Florida; a sister, Patricia Mooney of Manasquan; six grandchildren, Jessica Lepre Resnick, Richard Lepre, Frank Esposito, Lauren Grover, Nicholas Esposito and Amanda Lepre; one great grandchild, Olivia Resnick; and several nieces & nephews. Her greatest gift to all who loved her was her constant devotion and generous love; always being there to help or share the wisdom of her guidance. She was known for her friendliness to all, her sense of humor and pure enjoyment of family gatherings and parties.
Friends may attend a memorial gathering on Sunday, November 25th, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home - 2170 Highway 88, Brick. Memorial Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross to aid victims of Hurricane Sandy (http://www.redcross.org/).
