Roberta DiFrancesco, 79, of Basking Ridge, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Bound Brook & had lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Basking Ridge in 1982. She worked as a senior tax clerk for the town of Summit for 15 years before retiring in 2000. She also did data entry for Appraisal Systems Inc. She was the rock of her family & was very dedicated to them. During her life, she traveled extensively with her favorite trip being Hawaii. Roberta was a former President of the Scotch Plains Womens Club, & she also played the piano & violin. As a member of the National Wildlife Federation, she loved all animals especially wolves & dolphins.
Predeceasing her was a son, Gary Paul; a sister, Janice Mattei & a brother, Bruce Sutton. Surviving is her son, Dominick of Basking Ridge; 3 daughters, Lisa Marie Delnegro of No. Plainfield, Katherine Mary Massa of Stewartsville, Debra Ann DiFrancesco of Salem, Va.; a brother, Dick Sutton of Bethlehem, Pa.; a sister, Mimi Pierce of Melbourne, Fl.; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicholas Charles, Julian, Danielle, Emily; 1 great grandchild, Nicholas Jaden & dear friends, Pepe & Ray.
Visiting will be Wed. 2-4 & 7-9PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. There will be a 10AM funeral service on Thurs. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. Donations in Roberta's name would be appreciated to the National Wildlife Federation.
