Ruth Turner Obituary

Ruth Turner

AGE: 98 • Plainfield

Ruth Turner, born Ruth Fell May 19, 1918 to Hymie and Anna Fell of Plainfield, New Jersey, died in her sleep at the age of 98, on August 10, 2016 in Los Angeles, California. Ruth is survived by her son Bruce, daughter Jackie, grandchildren Justin, Jenna, Rachael and great grandchildren Addison, Emani and Noelani. Ruth's daughter Debi, mother of Rachael, passed away 12 years ago in Highland Park, N.J.

Ruth lived in Plainfield most of her life and moved to Bridgewater Township prior to moving to Los Angeles to join her children 12 years ago. Ruthie as she was known to family and friends had a great sense of humor and was an avid reader; she loved animals and especially loved caring for others. She worked for years at Tepper's Department Store in Plainfield and later at Hoechst Pharmaceuticals in Bridgewater Township. Ruthie volunteered at the local Hadassah center, Deborah Heart & Lung Foundation and the community food bank. Ruth was one of those special people who will be missed by all who knew her.

Bruce and Jackie, So sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with your mom many years ago at Tepper's. I can still see her behind her counter selling cosmetics. She was wonderful and caring. Bless her.

May she rest in peace.
