Rev. Sammie Lee McGriff, Sr., 68, died Fri. March 1, 2013 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Lancaster, SC, he lived in several cities in NJ the past 40 years. He was a graduate of the University of NC in Charlotte, NC in 1971. He was a self-employed electrical salesman and worked for Tyco Co. in Princeton retiring in 2009. Rev. McGriff was the associate pastor of Miracle Missionary Baptist Church in Plainfield.

Surviving are his wife Edith S. McGriff; a daughter Faith C. Young (Corey); 4 sons Sammie L. McGriff, Jr. (Mary), Richard S. , Constantine (Cecilia) and Lawrence McGriff; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister; 6 brothers and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Wed. 11am in Miracle Missionary Baptist Church, 225 Leland Ave., Plainfield preceded by viewing at 10am and also that evening from 6-8pm in the church. Interment in Lancaster, SC. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home, Plainfield. www.brownsfuneralhome.net.
