Shirley (Brink) Kluin, 77, of Middletown died on May 15, 2013, peacefully at home with family by her side. She was born in Middletown, grew up in Red Bank and moved back to Middletown for her adult life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley enjoyed her job as a volunteer at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. She took great pride in volunteering for over 11,000 hours. She was a talented seamstress as well as very artistic. She loved to work in her gardens and travel. She also enjoyed showing and breeding her German Shepherds.
Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Charles Kluin; 5 sons and wives, Chuck and Kathy Kluin, Bob and Heidi Jones, Tim and Lavonne Jones, Craig and Nancy Kluin, and daughter-in-law Joan Kluin; 2 daughters, Tracey Johnson and her companion Bob, Cindy Jones and fiancé Mike Hendrickson; 5 grandchildren, Chuck, Joshua, Jessica, Nicole, and Eric; 6 great-grandchildren, as well as 4 sisters and a brother.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Kluin.
