Silvia Iberia Lopez Quirolo left us on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at the Roosevelt Senior Care Center in Edison, N.J. Silvia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Jan. 25, 1928. A caregiver from an early age, family was her everything. She met her husband Carlos Manuel Quirolo when she was 18 and they married in 1948. The two were inseparable and deeply in love. They soon had a daughter Sylvia Alicia Quirolo in 1950 and raised her in Bernal, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. The couple moved to the United States following her daughter's family's emigration during the 1970s and lived in Edison, N.J. Carlos passed away suddenly in 1983. Although Silvia remained heartbroken, she managed to have a full life. She learned to speak English, worked at AT&T in Piscataway and retired during the 1990s. She pursued hobbies, including knitting, painting, gourmet cooking and dancing, and traveled internationally. She was always a pillar of support for her family, helping to raise her daughter's three children, creating a strong family base at home and bringing laughter into the hearts of those around her.
Silvia was predeceased by her beloved mother Dolores Bouzas and father Jose Lopez and brothers Jose Lopez, Jr. and Juan Alberto Lopez of Argentina. She is survived by her daughter Syliva Alicia Quirolo Zanoni of Monroe Twp., N.J., grandchildren Carla Zanoni, of New York City, Oscar Zanoni, of Edison, N.J., Leandro Zanoni, of South Amboy, N.J. and their father Oscar Miguel Angel Zanoni of Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as her three great grandchildren Matthew, Anthony and Teresa Zanoni. She is also survived by her three sisters Dolores Aurora Lopez, Juana Caridad Arzone, and Maria del Carmen Motto, and her brother Anibal Leandro Lopez of Argentina.
