Stephen R. Halo

AGE: 76 • Metuchen

Stephen R. Halo, 76, of Metuchen, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at St. Peter's Medical Center in New Brunswick. He was born in Newark and resided in the Edison/Metuchen area for more than 45 years. Stephen served in the army during peace time and then went to work as a sales representative in the Jewelry Industry before retiring. He was an avid Jazz fan and an accomplished pianist, and also a semi-pro tennis player. He had a great sense of humor and was a very creative jewelry designer.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Ruth Walters Halo; his children, Karen Halo of Edison and Stephen R. Halo III of NYC, and his sister, Cynthia Kaiser Haidri of Mendham.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Flynn and Son / Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Ave., Metuchen. Visitation is Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Contributions are requested to a favorite charity.

I worked for Steve on many occasions when a plumbing problem arose. He had a rich character and a kind heart. It was an honor to know him.

I had the pleasure of working with Steve years ago. I will always remember him for his kindness and generosity and sense of humor.
