Teodor Kusznir, 91, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Melna, Ukraine, and came to the United States in 1949 from Germany. He had resided in Mountainside, Union, New Brunswick and Somerset, New Jersey before moving to Piscataway thirteen years ago.
He had been employed as a machine operator by the Continental Baking Company, (Wonder Bread Division, East Brunswick), retiring in 1986. Teodor was a member of the Bakery and Confectioners Union and a member of the Piscataway Senior Citizens. He was a longtime member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church of New Brunswick.
Son of the late John and Anna Kusznir, also predeceased by his wives Tessie (1978) and Helen (2006). Teodor is survived by his present wife Nadiya (Huzar) Kusznir, his daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Robert P. Ward, of Somerset, NJ his grandson, William Lajtos and his great grandchildren Sabrina and Alec Latjos.
Funeral services will be held May 8th at 10 am in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 80 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, South Bound Brook, NJ. Relatives and friends may call at the Gowen Funeral Home, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick from 6-9pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in his memory.
