AGE: 77 • Brick

Thomas A. Egan, 77, joined his beloved wife Mickey in eternal life on November 24, 2012. Born and raised in Jersey City, to the late Thomas and Lillian Lechner Egan, he moved to Avon in 1989 and resided in Brick for the past 21years. Mr. Egan is a graduated from St. Peter's Prep and from the University of Notre Dame, class of 1957. Thomas was a dedicated alumnus, who supported all Notre Dame sports, but most of all, ND Football. He went on to work as a Pricing Specialist for 29 years with AT&T, retiring in 1989. Tom was a member of the AT&T Pioneers who enjoyed time spent in the sun and was an avid reader. He spent his retired time devoted to his cherished grandchildren, attending untold practices, games, matches, and performances. Mr. Egan was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth R.C. Church in Avon, and was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Aloysius R.C. Church in Jersey City.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Michele Carey Egan in 1995.

Surviving are his loving children, Thomas A. Egan and wife Mary, of Manasquan, their children Delia Rose and Mary Michele; Michael A. Egan and wife Maureen of Arlington, VA, and their children Michael A. and Eileen Seton; and Michele C. Egan and husband James A. Dolan, Jr. of Bricktown, and their daughter Alycia Egan-Dolan; and last, but not least, his much loved big sister Eileen, and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 27, and Wednesday, November 28, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29, at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, Lincoln Ave, Avon. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
