Thomas J. Cooper, Sr.

AGE: 90 • Kendall Park

Thomas J. Cooper, Sr., 90, of Kendall Park, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at his son's home in Kendall Park surrounded by his loving family. Born in Queens, NY, formerly of Hicksville, NY, he was a resident of Kendall Park for 34 years. He retired in 1982 as a manager with Citgo in Linden, with over 34 years of service. Tom was a United States Navy Seabee serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Kendall Park. There he served as an usher and on the Pastoral Board, and was a member of RCIA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Beth Page, NY. He was a past Captain and Life Member of the Kendall Park First Aid Squad. He was a certified instructor for the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. He loved his family.

Son of the late Charles and Mary (Schmidt) Cooper, husband of the late Marion A. Cooper, father of the late Linda Marie Cooper, brother of the late Patricia Brady, he is survived by his wife, Felicia A. Powell Cooper; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas J. Jr. and Barbara Cooper, William C. and Christine Cooper, James and Tammy Cooper; one brother, Charles Cooper; one sister, Doris McSweeney; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, James, Thomas, Daniel, Victoria, Sarah and Kimberly, and three great grandchildren, Shawn, Tyler, and Kayla.

The Funeral will be held 9:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:15 AM Saturday at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Calling hours will be held Friday, December 14, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
