Tonia Pauline Henrietta Fulginiti
Tonia Pauline Henrietta (nee Terracina) Fulginiti passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Tonia was born in Elizabeth, NJ in 1937, and moved to Ocean Port, NJ at 16 years old. She was a graduate of Long Branch High School, where she met her husband, Patrick Fulginiti. She attended Monmouth College, and after the birth of her two sons moved with her family to Toms River in 1964. It is in Toms River where Tonia would make her home for the next 46 years. As an attentive mother of two boys Tonia was an involved supporter of many school activities while working for nearly 20 years at Steinbach's Department Store. After helping her two sons through college Tonia started a brand new career, at the age 40, as an office manager of a successful local ophthalmic practice, which spanned over 20 years. Tonia became a well known and respected member of the local healthcare community during this time. Since 1987 Tonia thoroughly enjoyed her role as a grandmother, and has four grandchildren spanning the ages of 9 through 25 years. In 2011 Tonia and her husband moved to the Leisure Knoll Community in Manchester.
Tonia is survived by her husband, Patrick of Manchester Township; son, John, wife Geralyn and grandchildren, Megan and Patrick of Manahawkin; son, Michael, wife Patricia and grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlin of Pipersville, PA, and brother, Louis Terracina of Key West, Fl.
Visiting will be Tuesday 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00am at the Funeral Home arrive at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park. www.silvertonmemorial.com
