Tuffer Wilton Obituary
Tuffer Wilton

AGE: 72 • Stroudsburg, PA

Morrell L. "Tuffer" Wilton passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at R.W.J.U.H. at Somerset. He was 72. Born in Flemington to the late Morrell and Edna Wilton, Tuffer lived in Whitehouse Station for 19 years before moving to Stroudsburg, PA 26 years ago. Tuffer was an avid custom hot rod mechanic and was the co-owner of Reese Performance in Somerville for 24 years until 1986. He then worked for The Autoworks in Somerville for the next 18 years until joining Corbo's Automotive in 2004. Tuffer was a car enthusiast, if he wasn't repairing one or taking one apart, he was putting one together or just helping a friend in need. He was also a great softball player who could always be found on any softball field ready to play no matter the season or weather. He also enjoyed playing volleyball or roller-skating. But nothing gave him greater joy then spending time with his grandchildren. Always the "big-kid" and jokester, if there was a prank to be played, you could be sure you knew who was behind it. Tuffer will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known this legend of a man.

Tuffer is predeceased by his sister, Amy Wilton. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 26 years, Mary (Dittus) Wilton of Stroudsburg, PA; son, Darren Wilton and wife Lauren of Lebanon; daughter, Wendy L. Wilton of Branchburg; step-daughters, Elaine Law and husband Kyle of Camby, IN; Sherry Johnson and husband Sonny Goldman of East Stroudsburg, Sandy Messerle of East Stroudsburg, brothers, Bill Wilton and wife Rita of Ringoes, Rich Wilton and wife Diane of Bridgewater, 9 grandchildren, Alexis, Serena and Nicholas Papavero, Shawn and Samantha Wilton, Justin and Maya Petrella, Sage, Tiffany and Seth Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Emma. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and two cats, "Chance" and "Harper".

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 1-4 and 7-10PM at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. A service will be held 8:30 PM during the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to R.W.J.U.H. at Somerset.
