Victoria Janiak, 97, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Regency Park Rehabilitation in Hazlet. She was born Victoria Kurpiel on Dec. 9, 1915 in Staten Island, NY. She grew up in Bayonne and settled in Hazlet in 1958 to raise her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Kazmier and Eva Chomka Kurpiel; her beloved husband, Henry J. "Hank" Janiak; and her siblings, George Kurpiel, Tony Kurpiel, Josephine Grim, Eleanor Grycko and Caroline Hourihan. Victoria is survived by her loving son, Edward A. Borow and his wife Lorraine of Hazlet; her dear sister, Julia Dosdourian of Jupiter, FL; her cherished grandchildren, Douglas Borow and his wife Kathleen of Hazlet, Christopher Borow and his wife Annmarie of Hamilton Square; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Borow, along with her many nieces and nephews, including Joy Dosdourian, Cheryl, Gail, Daniel, Gregory and William Grim. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
