William Moreau

AGE: 83 • Forked River

William R. Moreau, age 83, of Forked River passed away on Monday December 31, 2012 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. Mr. Moreau was born in Chippewa Falls, WI and was formerly of Metuchen moving to Forked River in 1974. He worked for 38 years as a photo lab Supervisor for the Navel Air Engineering Center in Lakehurst retiring in 1988. He was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII and the Korean War. Mr. Moreau was a member of the Lacey Elks BPOE # 2518 where he was a charter member for over 50 years in that time he served as Exulted Ruler. He was also the State Vice President and Past District Deputy for the South East Districts. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 81 and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 10118 both of Lacey Township.

Mr. Moreau is survived by his wife of 38 years Barbara (nee Obrig) seven children Marilyn Stephan, Gail Tannenbaum, William Moreau, Jr., Jean Perucca, Nancy Moreau, James Hennig, and Cheryl DeMeo, and 12 Grandchildren.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Riggs Funeral Home 130 North Route 9, Forked River. Interment will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provence Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9956 in Mr. Moreau's Memory.
