Yolanda Russell Van Fleet departed life on January 2, 2012. She is survived by her father, Willie E. Russell Sr, mother Wakeela Rahman, son Joshua Van Fleet, daughter Bobbi Van Fleet, sisters Claudette McLaughlin (Michael), Willie E. Russell Jr. (Florine) Pam Green (Thomas), Joanie Martin, Tiaschi Ghee (Gerald), Tony Russell, Andrea Williams (Derek), granddaughters Kaelynn & Kassidy Fleming, Michelle Brown, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
At the family's request, the Van Fleet service will be held Saturday, 11 AM at the Rose of Sharon Community Church, 825 West 7th St., Plainfield. Visitation will be 7-9pm Friday at the church. My deepest condolences to Pastors Van Fleet's family, children and her beautiful grandbabies. I love you guys always. I will miss Pastor VanFleet she was a woman of soul,inspiration and can't forget courage. She held my hand thru many,many moments in my life and helped me past thru what was officially bad and trying times for me and my family. My Children(Alton,Altoneisha,Breanna,Alzanaia) husband Alvin and myself will forever love you and you will continue to live on in our hearts forever. You were more to me than my mentor. You are my friend, my pastor, my inspiration, the woman who helped me understand how to find strength in myself when I was at my most weakest moments, my Angel on earth. Pastor I will Love and cherish you in my heart forever.

My deepest condolences to the family. Yolanda may have left us but its another Angel heaven has gained. Yolanda will always be remembered in our lives. She was my singer in my wedding. What a wonderful person... Her memory lives on...

Our Most Sincere Prayers, Hearfelt Condolences and thoughts are with Yolanda's children, family members and grieving friends. She was a Light of Christ in a complex and often troubled world. Her smile radiated love and compassion. Heaven is blessed to have her all too soon and we look forward to seeing her again at our Grand Reunion.
