PAULETTE MARIE KRESS
AGE: 64 PLAINFIELD
Paulette Marie Kress (Doerr), of Plainfield, died Tuesday at the JFK at Hartwyck Estates in Edison. She was 64. Born in Newark, she has lived in Colonia and Woodbridge before moving to Plainfield 1971. She was a Professional Violinist. She was a member of the American Federation of Musicians local 16 in Newark, a longtime member of the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra. She also played for weddings and parties in NJ & NY for many years.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Mary Doerr. Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Russell Kress of Plainfield; sister Michelle Stein of Blackwood, NJ; 2 nephews, Richard and Daniel. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 AM at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, followed by a 10 AM Mass at St. Cecelia's RC Church, Edison. Burial to follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra c/o G. Hall, 585 Plainfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922 or Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Avenue Plainfield, NJ 07060.

I knew Paulette as a teacher with a gift for communicating her own love of music and as a caring person who always had a smile and loved to laugh. I'll always remember the time she drove up to my house for my violin lesson with a cat in her car who needed a home, and would find a great one, with Paulette and Russell. Paulette touched many lives and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to her family.

My sister Paulette was a beautiful, artistic and talented lady. She loved her husband, her music, her home, her garden, and her cats, and gave her best effort to all of them. A bright beautiful light has gone out of the world. Hopefully the glow of her memory will warm us all. Her sister, Michele (Deptford, NJ).

Paulette was my violin teacher for over 10 years. Though nearly 30 years have passed since I studied under her, I still have such fond memories of her as a gentle, lovely person who taught me to appreciate music.
