Brian Crisafulli

AGE: 59 • Branchburg

Brian Crisafulli, 59, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Born in Plainfield and raised in Fanwood, he resided in Manahawkin for a short time before moving to Branchburg 26 years ago.

Mr. Crisafulli completed his undergraduate degree from William Paterson University and received his master's degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana.

Brian was a Hydrogeologist and worked, for the past 34 years, for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Ground Water Pollution Assessment.

Brian was a communicant of St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater.

Brian loved playing softball throughout his life. He was the coach and played for the Branchburg Men's Adult Softball League, Willie McBride's Free Agents. He was an avid New York Yankee and Rutgers Football fan. He enjoyed planting a vegetable garden every summer. He also enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge of New Jersey History and Facts. He loved spending time at the Jersey shore. He was also a 20 year member of the Branchburg Rescue Squad Fundraising Committee.

Brian enjoyed spending time with his cherished friends and beloved family. He looked forward to annual St. Patrick's Day celebrations, balloon festivals, Somerset County 4-H Fairs, Far Hills Steeplechase Races, pumpkin picking, and Christmas tree cutting.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Salvatore Crisafulli and Dorothy Bell Crisafulli Dunch.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 25 years, Joanne Petran Crisafulli; his father-in-law, Joseph Petran of Manahawkin; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Petran of Branchburg; several cousins; his Golden Retriever, Hoppy and his cat, Harry.

Viewing hours are Monday, February 10, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Entombment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave., Colonia.
