AGE: 61 • Perth Amboy

Donna J. Pinney ( nee Senise ), 61 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy from complications of dialysis fistula. Donna was born in West New York, NJ, and lived in Panama, Keasbey, South Amboy and then to Perth Amboy for the last 14 years. She was employed by Perth Amboy Board of Education as a Teacher for many years. She began her career in Teaching during the 1970's in the parochial school system before moving into the public school system in the 1990's. She received her Bachelor's degree in Early Education from Jersey City State College and continued her courses towards her Master's in Education and received her certification to teach English as a Second Language.

Donna always put others first and had a way of making everyone feel important and special. She had a terrific sense of humor, a hearty contagious laugh, and was smart, witty and talented. She played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. All of these qualities and easy manner, made it a joy to be in Donna's presence and a honor to know her. Donna will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband Dennis J. Pinney of 22 years, who passed away in 1998; daughter of Michael and Elaine ( nee Weber ) Senise; daughter - in - law of Ann D. Pinney. She is survived by her dear friend Michael Gallagher, her best friend Ilianna and her husband Roberto Cortez and family;loving daughter -in-law of Kenneth W. and sister-in-law Ellen Pinney, Kenneth and his wife Marlene, Brian and his wife Mary, Jim and his wife Aida Pinney; adored aunt of Tyler, Kate, Tara, Alex, Brian E., Stephanie and husband Mike, Corey, Alyssa, Evan and Nicole; and many friends and students whose lives she touched along the way.

We begin to leave on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
