Agatha M. Galinis

AGE: 93 • Colonia

Agatha M. Galinis, of Colonia died Saturday, February 15th at the JFK Hartwyck at Cedar Brook Nursing Home in South Plainfield. She was 93. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived on Long Island before moving to Colonia in 1955. She worked as an Embosser for Pitney-Bowes in Linden for 15 years before retiring in the mid-1980s. She was a parishioner of St. John Vianney RC Church in Colonia, where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and also volunteered as a Bingo Caller for many years.

Her husband, Anthony Galinis died in 1966. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Patrick Mulvihill in 1999. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Edward & Mary Galinis of Colonia; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia & John Erikson of Clark, Elizabeth & Peter Richkus of South Plainfield, Mary & John O'Malley of Georgia, Margaret Mulvihill of Colonia and Catherine Bugg and her partner Tony Wiltz of Beaumont, Texas; sister-in-law, Sarah Staselis of Oceanside, New York; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19th at 9:45 AM at the GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, followed by a 10:45 AM Mass at St. John Vianney RC Church, Colonia. Burial to follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude's Children's research Hospital 501 St Jude place Memphis TN 38105 in her loving memory.
