AGE: 91 • Formerly of Middlesex

Grace Emma Montanye Apgar, 91, died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Piedmont Med. Center, Rock Hill, S.C. Grace was born May 24, 1922, in Plainfield to Charles H. and Roberta Kunzel Montanye. She was raised in Scotch Plains and Plainfield and resided most of her life in Middlesex before moving to Smyrna, S.C. in 2005. She was a long time active member of The First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen. Grace was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the wife of the late Newton W. Apgar, who died July 11, 2005, and the sister of the late Elsie Montanye, Roberta Monk, and James, Charles and Robert Montanye.

Her family includes three children, Wayne W. Apgar and his wife, Linda of Branchburg, Ila Meadows of Taylorsville, N.C., and Alan N. Apgar of Smyrna, S.C., who in recent years has provided loving care for his mother; two sisters, Ida Czahor and her husband, Ted, of Hillsborough, and Florence Stebor of North Plainfield; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. Interment will be in Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of The First Presbyterian Church, 218 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, NJ 08812.
