Edward R. Inserni, 88, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. He was born in New York City, NY, on August 25, 1925, to Raphael and Mary Castillo Inserni. Edward was raised and resided in New York most of his life, and has lived in Green Brook since 1980. He worked for many years as a clerk for the New York Supreme Court in Manhattan. His hobbies included playing the stock market, which brought him great enjoyment. Edward was a kind, good natured man who was very generous to his wife and her children. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.
He was the brother of the late William Inserni. His family includes his wife, Maria F. Inserni, whom he married on July 1, 1991; her children, Catherine Y. Hsieh and her husband, Marc, of Plano, TX, Elizabeth Yang of Flushing, NY, James Yang of Green Brook, and Edward Yang and his wife, Jessica, of Frisco, TX; her 4 grandchildren, Amy and Alice Hsieh and Wesly and Edward Yang, Jr.; and his niece and nephew, Joyce and Robert Inserni.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John's R.C. Church, Dunellen, on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Friends may visit the family at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
