AGE: 70 • Scotch Plains

George Davis 70 of Scotch Plains, born in Plainfield departed this earth April 13, 2014 at home. Visitation Sat. 4/19 from 10am-1pm at the St. John's Baptist Church 2387 Morse Ave. Scotch Plains, NJ followed by a celebration of life at 1pm. George Dan Davis was born September 11, 1943. He was the fourth of six children and was also a twin. He was employed by Weldon Concrete and retired as a master mechanic after thirty years of service. In continuing legacy of his father he took part in the rehabilitation of the JerseyLand Park Community Center and went on to become President of the JerseyLand Park Community Center for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Gertrude Davis of Chatham VA, His Wife Phyllis Davis of Plainfield NJ, A twin sister Nancy Ford of Lincoln Nebraska, His oldest son George Dan Davis Jr of Scotch Plains NJ.

He is survived by the love of his life, Lucretia "Patricia " Gonzalez of Plainfield NJ, He has two older brothers Joseph Davis and Gerald Davis each of Chatham Virginia, two younger sisters Lorraine Davis of Scotch Plains, New Jersey and Joann Davis-Wayne (Arthur) of Plainfield, NJ. His oldest surviving son Mark Davis (Zina) of Willingboro NJ; Derrick C Gonzalez (Joley) of Lakeland Tennessee; Trevor Carter of Willingboro NJ; Craig Davis (Allison) of Rahway NJ; Tressy Petersen (Timothy) of North Plainfield NJ; 16 grand children and 4 great grand children and a host of family and friends.
