Mary Rose (Porpiglia) Stavinsky, 92, entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Hazleton, PA., daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella (Powell) Porpiglia, she settled to Manville in 1956.
Mary was a homemaker most of her life. Caring for her family was her highest priority. Mary also had a special love for cooking, baking and crocheting. She retired in 1980 from Somerset Medical Center where she was a baker, making homemade desserts for both patients and staff. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Walter in 1999 and brothers James and George Porpiglia. Mary is survived by her three devoted daughters; Mary Pfeil and husband Robert of Hillsborough, Carmella Stavinsky and Bill Peabody of Manville and Rose Ann Lucas and husband Alan of Manville. She will be deeply missed by her step-grandchildren; Dana DePace and husband Anthony and Christopher Pfeil and wife Melissa and four step-great-grandchildren, Collin and Paige DePace and Leah and Alexa Pfeil. Our mom was totally amazing in so many ways and was loved by so many. She was the heart of our family. Life goes on but our love for her is everlasting. No one will ever take her place. We will hold all the memories close to our hearts and soul. We love you Mom, rest in peace.
