AGE: 84 • East Brunswick

Edward V. Curley died Monday, April 21, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was 84. Born in Dickson City, PA, he resided in East Brunswick for the past 57 years. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he was an electrician with Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick for 25 years, and was a member of the 25 year club. In addition, he was a musician for many years, playing the accordion for many weddings and parties. He also served as a Special Police Officer for East Brunswick for 25 years. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a life member of the East Brunswick VFW Post 133, and the Milltown American Legion. He was a member of AARP, and had served as a Committeeman for the East Brunswick Democratic Party for many years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Old Bridge.

He was predeceased by a son, Edward in 1990, and by a brother, Leon, and a sister, Stella Kozlowski. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Josephine "Joyce" Washeleski Curley; a son, Kevin and his wife Diana Curley of England, Arkansas; a daughter, Susan Featherston of Gainesville, VA; a brother, Frank Curley of Manville; a sister, Florence and her husband Walter Sajkowski of Dunmore, PA; and two grandchildren, Deirdre and McKensey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 AM in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10:15 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment with military honors will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
